How to prepare your file

A clean file is the difference between a usable translation and a failed upload. This page is what to check before you pay.

Use these formats

PDF or Microsoft Word (.docx) only, up to 2 MB. Older .doc files and pictures (JPG, PNG, HEIC) are not accepted. Spreadsheets and PowerPoint are not accepted.

Selectable text, not a picture

Open the file on a computer. Try to highlight a sentence. If the highlight follows the words, you are ready. If nothing highlights, it is almost certainly a scan or photo. Re-export from Word, Google Docs, or the program that created the document. Do not photograph a printout.

Keep it under 2 MB

Large image-heavy PDFs often fail the size check. Export without huge background photos, or split a long packet into parts. Word count is separate: the first 2,500 words are included in the listed price; extra words are shown before you pay.

Remove passwords and forms that lock text

Encrypted PDFs and files that forbid copying cannot be read. Unlock them before upload. Fillable form fields may not survive as fields; the visible labels and values are what we translate.

Upload the original

Upload the original document, not a LinguaQuick translation. A file we already translated cannot be translated again. The layout will not hold, and that is not a reason for a refund.

Pick the right target language

Source and target must differ. If the document is already Spanish and you leave the target on Spanish, we will stop you. Default target is English. Confirm the pair before payment.

Questions

What is selectable text?
If you can highlight words with your cursor and copy them, the file has selectable text. If you can only look at a picture of the page, it is a scan or photo and will fail.
Can I send a photo of a document?
No. Phone photos and most scans are images, not text. Export or save a real PDF or Word file from the original document.
What if my file is larger than 2 MB?
Compress a PDF, remove unused images, or split the document. We cannot accept files over 2 MB.
Will columns, logos, and stamps match perfectly?
We keep the original file type and aim to keep layout readable. Complex graphics, tiny stamps, and overlapping text in the original can still look imperfect. Review the result.
Can I upload a file LinguaQuick already translated?
No. Upload the original document, not a LinguaQuick translation. A file we already translated cannot be translated again, and that result is not a refund.
